Scientists from Wales, UK, have been investigating the possible usage of beer, and honey, as antimicrobial agents in their search for natural cures for disease. Also, Honey has been shown to be not only a known antimicrobial agent, but even as a fermented beverage! Hops have known antibacterial properties, but until recently no one have ever bothered to see what kinds are around, and their intrinsic properties. The future looks bright for beer and mead makers around the globe as scientists search for better ways to treat diseases that have become antibiotic resistant. I’ll drink to that!
